What is the gyro gain when the radio is set at x%?
Answer

The following table shows the relationship of the gyro operating gain in respect to the displayed value on the screen of some popular radio control transmitters.

 JR/Spektrum Gyro Menu When the menu value is less than 51
GyroGain = (51 - MenuValue) * 80 / 51
When the menu value is greater than 51
GyroGain = (MenuValue - 51) * 77 / 49
 JR/Spektrum Endpoints GyroGain = (EndpointValue + 1) * 80 / 127 GyroGain = (EndpointValue-1) * 100 / 128

Example 1:
When the gain value shown on the DX7 gyro menu is 70%. We use the equation
GyroGain = (MenuValue-51)*77/49 and replace MenuValue with 70%. Therefore:
GyroGain = (70-51)*77/49 = 30% AVCS

Example 2:
When the gain value shown on the DX7 gyro menu is 30%. We use the equation
GyroGain = (51-MenuValue)*80/51 and replace MenuValue with 30%. Therefore:
GyroGain = (51-30)*80/51 = 33% Rate
