Knowledge base Blue-Link

Question #144
I read that the Blue-Link can be modified and be used with the vbar. How can I do this?

You don't have to modify the Blue-Link in order to work with the vbar but if you use it frequently for this purpose you can do the connector modification for convenience.

The Spartan Online Store now offers the option to order a Blue-Link with the vbar 4pin connector already installaed. [See here.]

The red Blue-Link plug only provides power to the Blue-Link and thus it can be connected anywhere where suitable power is available. For example the receiver as shown at the photograph below.

If you choose to fit a four way connector to the Blue-Link use the image below for guidance. The black wire of the red plug is no longer needed and can be trimmed at the base of the Blue-Link.

Please note that before the vbar software can detect the Blue-Link it has to be renamed to VBar 1234567890. Where 1234567890 you can use your own random number or your vbar's serial number. To rename the Blue-Link go to: Control Panel -> Hardware and Sound -> Devices and Printers -> Bluetooth Devices. Then, right click on the Blue-Link and select Properties. Then click on the Bluetooth tab and enter the new name.

The above procedure may very a bit depending on the version of Windows you are using.
