Knowledge base ds760 Installation & setup

Question #74
How does the bind plug setup work?
Answer

This feature is available only in firmware version 2.00 and higher. Your transmitter must be switched on and the gyro connected to the receiver while using this configuration method.

Servo type selection mode.

  • Using bind plug. Insert a Spektrum bind plug to the ds760 data port before you power on the gyro. Power on the gyro and wait a few seconds until the Status light starts flashing. You are now in servo type selection mode.
  • Using setup button. With the gyro powered off press and hold down the push-button. Power on the gyro and wait a few seconds until the Status light starts flashing. You are now in servo type selection mode.

Reversing and endpoint configuration mode.

  • Using bind plug. Insert a Spektrum bind plug to the ds760 data port after the gyro has finished calibrating (tail servo powered on). Wait a few seconds until the servo starts to zip side to side. You are now in the reversing and endpoint configuration mode.
  • Using setup button. After the gyro has finished calibrating (tail servo powered on) press and hold down the push-button. Wait a few seconds until the servo starts to zip side to side. You are now in the reversing and endpoint configuration mode.
  • For in flight safety accessing the configuration mode using a bind plug or setup button can only be done during the first 20 seconds after calibration is completed.

Methods for progressing to the next step of setup.

  • Toggle the gyro mode switch between Normal and AVCS.
  • Remove and reinsert the bind plug.
  • Press the setup button.

Making a setup button.

To make your own setup button you will need an old servo cable and a push-to-make push-button.
