Question #80
At what distance should I place the servo ball link?

The best practice is to first try the advice in your helicopter's assembly manual.

We recommend that you initially place the servo ball link at the distance that will result to combined servo endpoints greater than 200%. For example 120% on one side and 80% on the other. Alternatively you should aim for a total servo travel of over 70 degrees.

After you fly the helicopter and adjust the gain, if the gain value appears too low (less than 30%) you may consider bringing the ball link closer to the centre. This will allow to increase the gain a bit more.

Some of the smaller (250 and 450 size) helis may require the ball link fitted to the most inner hole of the servo arm.
