Spartan RC was formed in 2004 by two experienced electronics engineers that were at the same time passionate about model helicopters. The design team Angelos Gonias and John Newton have over 30 years of collective experience in electronics and distributed control systems. Angelos has previously worked with robot control and image recognition systems and lately as a control systems engineer in a major electron accelerator research project. He is now involved mainly with Spartan RC's new product development. John has previously worked for a variety of electronics and software companies in areas of microcomputer systems, high speed electronics, satellite tracking and RF technologies. John contributes to the R&D work of Spartan RC and also manages production and testing operations. Both John (pictured below on the left) and Angelos (pictured on the right) are also competent RC model pilots and thus have a direct understanding of the requirements and high performance RC pilots seek.
